Debka Dror Dance and Music by Moshiko Halevy? Notes by Phillip M. Feldman 3/29/1988 Rev. 4/3/1992 This is a very fast three-part circle dance; the difficulty is 4 on a scale of 1 to 5. There is an introduction, the first part of which has no definite beat, followed by an 8-count lead in. (The words are the same as for the song Dror Yikra). Part 1: Face center (into the circle) throughout. 1: Stamp twice with R to right side; no weight on first stamp. 2: Cross L behind R and hop on L. 3-4: Travel to right with slide-together-slide-pause (R-L-R). 5-8: Mirror image of 1-4 (stamp twice with L to left side...) 9: Stamp twice with R in place; no weight on first stamp. 10: Cross L in front of R and chug backward on L. 11-12: Quick Yemenite-right (small step to right with R, lean to the left, and cross R in front), and step in place on L. 13-16: Repeat 9-12. 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Part 2: Begin facing center. 1-2: Step to right and lean to left. 3-4: Facing reverse LOD (CW around circle) travel forward with step-together-step-pause (R-L-R-pause). 5-6: Step forward with L, swivelling 90 degrees to the left (CCW) to face out of the circle, and touch with R toe to right side. 7-8: Step forward with R, swivelling 180 degrees to the right (CW) to face center, and touch L toe to left side. 9-12: (Facing center) travel to right with 4 counts of reverse Mayim left: cross L behind R, step to right with R, cross L in front of R, and step to right with R. 13-16: Repeat 9-11 and touch with R to right side on 16. 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Part 3: Begin facing center. 1: Step forward on R and pivot 180 degrees to left to face out of circle. 2: Step forward onto L. 3: Step forward on R and pivot 180 degrees to right to face into circle again. 4: Touch in place with L. 5-6: Quick Yemenite-left travelling diagonally forward and to the right (small step to left with L, lean to right, cross L in front of R, and pause for 1/2 count). 7-8: Stamp in place twice with R, with no weight on either stamp. 9-10: Step to right with R and touch L near R, snapping fingers. 11-12: Quick Yemenite left. 13-16: Repeat counts 9-12. 17-48: Repeat counts 1-16 twice more.
