Eretz Hatzabar (Land of the Sabra) Dance by Shmuel Gov-ari Notes by Phillip M. Feldman 9/29/1986 Rev. 10/30/1986 This easy circle dance has two parts. Hands are joined at waist level except when turning. First part: Begin facing CCW around circle. 1-3: Three steps forward, R-L-R, pivoting 90 degrees to the right (CW) on 3 to face out. 4-5: Slide L, close R, slide L, close R. 6: Slide L and pivot 180 degrees to the left (CCW) to face center. 7-8: Step on R (in place) and lean R. Step on L and lean L. 9-11: First three steps of grapevine-right, R-L-R. 12-13: Finish grapevine by crossing behind with L on 12 and immediately take two quick steps on 12-1/2 and 13 with R-L. These steps may be either small steps forward (into circle) or in-place steps. 14: Step forward on R, leaning back slightly as you do so. 15: Rock back onto L. This is just a transfer of weight-- not a step. Allow gravity to pull you back. 16: Stamp R (closing to L) without weight. 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Second part: 1: Fall right (essentially a tiny in-place leap onto R). 2: Cross L in front of R, bending both knees slightly. 3-4: Take a small step backwards on R and close with L. 5-6: Walk two steps forward, R-L. 7-10: Repeat 1-4. 11-12: Step forward with R and kick forward with L. 13-15: Turn 180 degrees to the left (CCW), L-R-L. 16: Touch R. 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Ending: The whole dance repeats three times (1-2-1-2-1-2). The music ends by repeating the first 16 counts of the part 1: 1-11: Same as 1-11 of first part. 12-13: Finish grapevine as before and take two quick medium-size steps forward (into circle), R-L. 14-15: Two large steps forward, R-L. 16: Heavy stamp R.
