Hora Agadati Dance by Baruch Agadati Music by A. Boskovitch Notes by Phillip M. Feldman 5/11/1986 Rev. 4/16/1987 Hora Agadati is a beginner-level two-part line dance. Choreographed in 1924, Hora Agadati has the distinction of being the first authentically Israeli folk dance. The music in the second part was originally an anti-Semitic student song. Part 1: Begin facing in the line of direction (direction of travel). 1-4: Take four (small or medium) running steps forward, R-L-R-L. 5-8: Jump four times in place, twisting left, right, left, and right. These "jump-twists" are done with the feet together. 9-32: Repeat counts 1-8 three more times. Part 2: Face 90 degrees to the left of the direction of travel. 1-2: Step in-place on R and extend the left leg in front and touch the heel. 3-4: Bring L back and do a quick L-R-L-pause in place. 7-8: Repeat 1-4. 9-10: Two jump twists (left and right). 11-12: Step to the left with L and cross R in front, stamping with weight. 13-14: Step in place on L and step to the right with R. 15-16: Do a quick L-R-L-pause in place. 17-32: Repeat 1-16.
