Hora Medura ("Camp Fire Dance") Dance by Yoav Ashriel Notes by Phillip M. Feldman 1/24/1986 Rev. 8/9/1987 Hora Medura is an easy (but energetic) two-part circle dance; the dance repeats three times. Hands are joined at waist-level throughout. Part 1: Facing center, travelling CCW. 1-2: Leap to the right with R and close with L. 3-8: Repeat 1-2 three more times. 9-12: Run into the circle with R-L-R and hop on R. (Optionally) kick forward with L on 12. 13-16: Run backward with L-R-L and hop on L. 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Part 2: Begin facing center. Direction of travel is CW. 1-4: Mayim right: Cross R in front of L, step to left with L, cross R behind L, and step to left with L. 5-8: Turning to face CW and bending low, run four with R-L-R-L. 9-12: Repeat 1-4. 13-14: Lifting head and holding body straight, touch with right heel and then lift right knee slightly. 15-16: Repeat 13-14. 17-32: Repeat 1-16.
