Hora Michal (Michal's Dance) Dance by Seffi Aviv Notes by Phillip M. Feldman Sept. 9, 1988 Hora Michal is a fast three-part circle dance. The level of diffi- culty is 3 on a scale of 1 to 5. Part 1: Begin facing LOD (CCW around circle) with hands joined at waist level. 1-4: Travel forward with four running steps (R-L-R-L). 5-8: Make a full turn to the left with 2 step-hops (R-hop, L-hop). 9-16: Repeat 1-8. Part 2: Begin facing LOD. 1-4: Travel forward with two step-hops (R-hop, L-hop). 5-6: Cross R in front of L and hop. 7-8: Cross L in front of R and hop. 9-10: Travel backward with fast step-together-step-pause (R-L-R). 10-12: Travel backward with fast step-together-step-pause (L-R-L). 13-16: Make a full turn to the right with 4 steps (R-L-R-L). 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Part 3: Facing center. 1-8: Travel forward (into circle) with four kick-steps (R-L-R-L), i.e. kick forward with R and step onto it, kick with L... 9-12: Make a full turn to the right with R-L-R and clap on 12. 13-16: Make a full turn to the left with L-R-L and clap on 16. 17-18: Leap backward onto R, lifting left leg with bent knee, and step backward onto L. 19-24: Repeat 17-18 three more times. 25-32: Repeat 9-16.
