Hora Yamit Dance by ??? Notes by Phillip M. Feldman Dec. 1, 1988 Hora Yamit is a fast four-part circle dance. The level of difficulty is 3 on a scale of 1 to 5. Throughout the dance, hands are joined at waist level except when turning or clapping. Part 1: Facing center. 1-2: Step (or stamp) to the right with R and hold for 1 count. 3: Rock to the left. 4-5: Step to the right with R and hop. 6-9: Mayim with L: Cross L in front of R, step to the right with R, cross L behind R, and step to the right with R. 10-14: Double Chirkassia: Cross L in front of R, rock back onto R, step to the left with L, cross R in front of L, and rock back onto L. 15-16: Sway to the right and left. 17-32: Repeat 1-16. Part 2: Begin facing center. 1-2: Jump on both feet and land on L. 3-8: Reverse Mayim with R: Cross R behind L, step to the left with L, cross R in front of L, step to the left with L, cross R behind L, and step to the left with L. 9-32: Repeat 1-8 three more times. Part 3: Begin facing center. 1-4: Travel into the circle with 2 step-hops (R-hop, L-hop), turning left shoulder in and clapping on 3. 5-8: Two step-hops backward (circle expands to original size). 9-12: Two step-hops into the circle, turning 180 degrees to the right (CW) at the same time to end facing out of the circle. 13-16: Two step-hops in place, raising hands and snapping fingers. 17-32: Repeat 1-16 (begin facing out and end facing in again). Part 4: Facing center. 1-2: Travel into the circle with a right step-hop. 3-4: Cross L in front of R and immediately cross R in front of L. 5-8: Travel backwards with three steps and a hop (L-R-L-hop). 9-16: Repeat 1-8.
