Mizerlou Notes by Phillip M. Feldman June 15, 1988 The music is Greek; the dance steps might be Greek with Middle- Eastern influence. This beginner-level line dance has only a single part (most folk dances have at least two parts). Hands are joined at shoulder level (join hands only-- this is not a shoulder hold with joined arms). Begin standing side-by-side. 1-2: Step to right with R and pause (or make a small hop). On 2, lift left leg slightly, swinging it to the right. 3-4: Touch L in front of R and immediately begin to swing left leg in a half circle, bringing L behind R. 5-6: Step on L (L behind R) and step to the right with R. 7-8: Cross L in front of R and immediately pivot 90 degrees to the left to face reverse LOD. 9-12: Travel forward three steps with R-L-R and pause. 13-16: Travel backward three steps with L-R-L and pivot 90 degrees to the right, returning to the original position in prepar- ation to begin the dance again.
