Tsadik Katamar Dance by Yonatan Gabai Music by A. Ne'eman Notes by Phillip M. Feldman 4/16/1986 Rev. 8/26/1987 Tsadik Katamar is a beginner-level two-part circle dance. The dance repeats three times. Part 1: Begin facing CCW around the circle with hands joined at waist level. 1-4: Hands are joined at waist level. Walk four steps forward with R-L-R-L. Following count 4, turn to face center and raise hands to shoulder level with palms outwards, touching palms with adja- cent dancers. 5-8: Rock four times in place: R-L-R-L. Count 8 is sometimes done as a small in-place leap onto L and kick with R. 9-16: Repeat 1-8. Part 2: Join hands again and face CCW. 1-2: Two steps forward with R-L. 3-4: Turn 180 degrees to the left (CCW) to face CW around circle and take two steps _backward_ with R-L (still traveling CCW around circle). Note: Counts 5-12 are a combination of three-step turn and double-chirkassia, in which the third step of the turn is also the first count of the double-chirkassia. This figure occurs in other dances (e.g., Erev Ba). 5-7: Three-step turn to the right with R-L-R (end facing center). 8-12: Complete the double-chirkassia: Cross L in front of R, rock back onto R, step to the left with L, cross R in front of L, and rock back onto L. 13-16: (Facing center, hands up) rock four times: R-L-R-L. The optional in-place leap and kick of part 1 should not be done here. 17-32: Repeat 1-16.
