Feldman 3/24/1988 Yakir Li Ephraim is a moderately fast two-part dance in "disco format" (dancers face source of music; hands are not held). The difficulty level is 3 on a scale of 1 to 5. There is a 16-count introduction. These notes are based on Miriam Dean's teaching. Part 1: 1-2: Step to right with R and hop on R, swinging L to left. 3-4: Cross L behind R and step to right with R. 5-8: Continue travelling in same direction with Mayim left: Cross L in front of R, step to right with R, cross L behind R, and step to the right with R. 9-16: Mirror image of counts 1-8 (step to left with L and hop on L, swinging R to right ...) 17-20: Chirkassia right: Step forward with R, rock back onto L, step backward with R, and rock forward onto L. 21-22: Travel forward with step-together-step-pause (R-L-R). 23-24: Same as 21-22 with L-R-L. 25-26: Step forward with R, pivoting on R 180 degress to left, and step forward with L. 27-28: Repeat 25-26, returning to face source of music. 29-32: Step on R and lift left knee; step on L and lift right knee. Part 2: 1-2: Step to right with R and close L to R, wiggling right shoulder slightly forward on 1 and slightly backward on 2. 3-4: Repeat 1-2. 5-8: Yemenite right: Step to right with R, lean to left, cross R in front of L, and pause. 9-16: Mirror image of 1-8. 17-20: Three-step turn to right with R-L-R and clap on count 20. 21-24: Three-step turn to left with L-R-L and clap. 25-26: Pas de Basque with R (small step to right with R, touching with L in front of R, put partial weight on L, shift weight back to R, and pause for 1/2 count). 27-28: Pas de Basque with L. 29-32: Repeat 25-28.
