Al Kanfe Hakesef (On Silver Wings) Dance by Moti Elfassy Notes by Phillip M. Feldman 2/4/1988 Al Kanfe Hakesef is an easy (but fast and energetic) two-part dance; the difficulty-level is 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. Hands are joined throughout the dance. Part 1: Begin facing CCW around the circle. 1-4: Run forward with R-L-R-L. 5-6: Swivelling 180 degrees to the left, leap backward onto R and step back onto L (you are still travelling CCW around circle). 7-8: Turning to face center, step to the right with R and cross L (directly) in front of R. 9-16: Eight counts of Mayim-right (travelling CW around circle): Cross R in front of L, step to left with L, cross R behind L, step to left with L, etc. 17-20: Moving toward center of circle: Step forward with R and hop; step forward with L and hop. 21-24: Right-Yemenite hop: step to right with R, lean to left, cross R in front of L, and hop on R. 25-28: Left-Yemenite hop: step to left with L, lean to right, cross L in front of R, and hop on L. 29-32: Four quick steps backward with R-L-R-L. 33-64: Repeat 1-32. Part 2: Face center throughout this part. 1-2: Leap (or slide) to right with R and close L to R. 3-4: Repeat 1-2. 5-6: Leap forward onto R (swinging arms forward and up) and rock backward onto L (let arms drop down). 7-8: (Closing R to L) jump on both feet and land with weight on R. Counts 9-16 are the mirror image of 1-8: 9-10: Leap (or slide) to left with L and close R to L. 11-12: Repeat 9-10. 13-14: Leap forward onto L and rock backward onto R. 15-16: (Closing L to R) jump on both feet and land on L. 17-32: Repeat 1-16.
